The course is for people working in food businesses who require training as part of local council regulations. The course provides the required training according to Auckland Council’s Food Safety Bylaw 2013 and is based on NZQA unit standards: Practice Food Safety Methods in a Food Business (unit standard 167) and Demonstrate Knowledge of Food Contamination Hazards and Control Methods Used in Food Businesses (unit standard 168).
The course is achievable, affordable, and the certificate is valid for life.
The Food Safety & Hygiene Training Course is a one-day training programme approved by the Auckland Council to comply to the licensing requirements of the Auckland Council Food Safety Training Bylaws. The class is from 10am to 3pm. The course is designed to make sure you are familiar with the very latest food safety and hygiene standards and protocols. At the end of the day, you will be asked to take an exam to test your understanding of what was covered. Course Examination starts at 2:00pm. Once you have completed your training, you will receive your Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate. The North Shore Skills Academy Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate is accepted to satisfy the requirements of the Auckland Council Food Safety Training Bylaws and to be in compliance of the Auckland Council Food Safety Training Bylaws.
The Auckland Council Food Safety Bylaw came into force in July 2013 and requires that not less than 50 percent of all food handlers at any one time be trained in food hygiene by an approved course provider.
