Available nationwide, CTB is a high-performing economic solution that can be tailored to customer requirements.
Plant stabilising improves the accuracy of the production process allowing for a greater controlled and consistent finished product. The cement-modified aggregate can be used in a wide variety of applications including heavy trafficked highways, pavements and building foundations. It provides improved resistance to rutting, enhanced longevity and increased resistance to moisture.
Laboratory testing using repeated load triaxial testing equipment has found that low dosages of cement added to basecourse significantly improves the moisture resistance and stiffness resulting in greater resistance to deformation when wet. Dr Greg Arnold of Pavespec Limited (formerly TRANSIT engineering policy manager) has evaluated Winstone Aggregates’ CTB products. “Modified aggregate performs well even when wet and a low compaction. The use of this material will reduce the risk of early pavement failure, therefore is suitable for high trafficked state highways. ”
Winstone Aggregates can stabilise the full range of basecourse and sub-base products to NZTA specifications.
