Having sold his share in New Zealand's first Linux specialist
company Asterisk Ltd.* to Gen-i, open source champion Igor Portugal has
not moved far from the open source field. Igor is now the CEO of
Vadacom Limited, a VOIP solutions vendor.
While Vadacom's line of business is in the different field from
Asterisk's traditional line of business, Vadacom still supports the
open-source community and Vadacom's products are largely built on the
Igor Portugal is one of the founding members of the New Zealand Open
Source society. His passion for technology earned him an excellent
reputation in New Zealand's IT community. Igor is clearly recognized as
one of the leaders in New Zealand's Open Source movement and Linux
advocacy by Linux supporters and opponents, and other members of the IT
community, neutral to the Linux debate.
