WTF 15th Poomsae Certification Seminar – Auckland

By: Taekwondo New Zealand  05-Apr-2012

This was held in Auckland during the week of the 12th – 16th March at the North Shore Events Centre. As part of TNZ’s commitment to further develop Poomsae competition, the 15th WTF Poomsae Certification Seminar, which included the 11th WTF Poomsae Judge Refresher Course, was hosted by TNZ here in New Zealand on behalf of the WTF.

25 participants from New Zealand, Australia, USA, Tonga and Indonesia participated in the intense five day course. The seminar presenter was Grandmaster Ki Young Jeong who is the WTF’s Chief Poomsae Judge Instructor. Grandmaster Jeong also wrote the WTF Poomsae Competition Rule Book, so it was a great privilege for all participants to receive instruction from him.

10 New Zealand Masters were amoung the participants. We wish them and everyone who completed the course all the best as they eagerly await their results and confirmation to becoming certified WTF Poomsae Judges. TNZ would like to thank Grandmaster Jeong and the Head of the WTF Referee Division Jay Lee for bringing this seminar to New Zealand. Also a special thanks to Garry Carpenter for all his organising and hosting for this seminar.
