"We like it that you take the problem away"
This is one response we get from our customers when we ask them why they've chosen Regency Cabs to be their official transport provider for a large event.
Hi, my name is Paul Cafferkey, and I lead the team here are Regency Cabs.
As the manager of a large event, you no doubt have thousands of items on your 'To Do' list. We are specialists in providing a total solution for your transport requirements; quite simply, we take the transport problem away.
Our Record Speaks For Itself
We have been the official carriers for the Air New Zealand Fashion Week and the Ellerslie Flower Show for 5 years running, as well as for the V8 Super Cars event. It is not uncommon for us to be called in to manage the transport for 550 people for companies like The Warehouse head office. We also do work for Air New Zealand, Fonterra, Noel Leeming
and L'Oreal Cosmetics. So we really specialize in these types of events where we have become the "Carrier or official transport provider of choice".
In all these events, there's one key point, which is our main goal and that is to take the transport problem away.
When asking customers why they have engaged Regency Cabs as their official transport provider, interesting answers include 'We like it that you take the problem away'. Transport is a big problem at events.
The last thing event organisers need to worry about is:
Are the VIP's being picked up on time?
Are there going to be taxis for people outside the venue at the end of the event after they've been socializing and having a couple of drinks?
In the case of the Air New Zealand Fashion Week, are the models being moved around efficiently? We might move 30 to 40 models at once from one end of Auckland to the other.
This needs to be done very efficiently, very swiftly. It must be well coordinated with no delays.
Please give me a ring on (09) 309-0109 to find out how we can be of assistance at your next event!
Our Personal Touch
I deal personally with the team running the event. I like to introduce myself to all the key people, the mangers and those running the event and give them my cell phone number, giving them the freedom to deal with me directly. Although it's very rare for directors of a company to be in the field, we agree with the Japanese philosophy where the managers go down to work in the factory for a couple of days each month. This allows them to keep their finger on the pulse. And we enjoy it. For example at the Air New Zealand Fashion week, the directors actually personally marshal the taxi rank. We're on the ground, controlling the taxis, monitoring all the pick-ups. We'll have a list of scheduled movements and we'll get it all done.
We don't get handed these events on a golden platter each year, we have to perform to renew them. I think the relationships we build with the event managers are key. And it's always a compliment to us when our customers renew the tender without going to the market.
We get many compliments from the public attending these events too. I found last year at the Air New Zealand Fashion Week, people were coming up to me saying 'It's great to see you here again'. To me that was awesome, what a shot in the arm! I got the same reaction at the super car event in Pukekohe. I had people come up to me saying, 'Glad to see you guys are here again, you do such a good job'. You don't realize that people actually notice that, it's very rewarding.
