PSCAF 2000 - MAKING QUICK WORK OF SCAFFOLD DESIGN & ESTIMATING
PScaf 2000 is an AutoCAD application for scaffolding design, documentation, component scheduling and erection, and was developed by Salesoft CAD Solutions in conjunction with Pacific Scaffolding.
PScaf 2000 has a full range of powerful object based tools to create sketch layouts and working drawings of 'Tube and Clip' type scaffolding. 2D scaffold bays can be laid out in any user defined style based on plank widths, plank lap or butt tube supports, height of lifts, length of bay etc. Each user style is saved to a library for future re-use. Placing of each bay is controlled by start and end adjacent bay conditions and top working platform heights. 3D component based representations are elevated from the scaffold layouts.
When placing scaffolding bays on sloping ground or over obstacles such as retaining walls, PScaf 2000 will adjust the base zone of the scaffold to the ground contour. Supplementary base tubing and allowance for staggered joins is all placed automatically. Sole plates can be single or continuous length to bridge drains and weak ground conditions. As well as automatic contour placement, each support standard can be set to its own depth and top height. A complete set of editing tools allows for the customizing of either the schematic 2D layout or the 3D elevated scaffold to modify the general layout for specific site and building obstacles.
3D Presentation Facilities
PScaf 2000 creates a render ready 3D model directly from the single line schematic 3D elevated scaffold representation. Visualization software such as Autodesk 3D Studio VIZ and Accurender can all be used to prepare impressive presentations for client approval.
The 3D model is used for the working drawing document set. Automatic paper space layouts transform the 3D model directly into 2D drawings for site installation instructions. Isometric views can also be included for easy on-site erection. Annotation of dimensions, specific tube lengths, leader notes and other drawing symbols is all adjusted to intended plot scales.
A wide range of commonly used secondary components can be added to the scaffold bays. Ladder access and loading bay units automatically adjust to requested working platform heights and ground conditions. The design engineer can place individual braces in parallel or dogleg form and run face bracing anywhere across the scaffold bay. All tubes are automatically checked for nearest stock lengths with staggered joints where necessary by code requirements. All tube layouts and detailing is based on AS/NZS 4576 standards and the British Guide to Practical Scaffolding. Protection screening can be indicated and calculated on a square metre or by roll basis.
Single or multi-bay scaffolds can be reported in inventory file format for site delivery order lots. Direct links to user designed Excel worksheets allows for quick ticketing of bundles and checking of returned equipment.
AUTOAIDs applications are designed and developed on a custom contract basis. They are all fully AutoCAD compatible. A close relationship with end users, local materials suppliers and manufacturers means that there is a constant stream of new products and features introduced into the applications. Upgrades are available on a quarterly basis so that users can make immediate use of the latest features at all times.
