Working at Height ConsultancyThe current regulations represent a single set of standards covering all work activities that take place above 3m from the ground.NZHS support businesses where working at height is part of their everyday operations, within construction, utilities, process industries and government. We help ensure that their workers are properly trained and that their safety systems are properly installed and inspected and suitable for their situation. We are able to offer the best design solutions on a building by building basis for fall arrest and restraint systems, ladder systems, exposed edges, walkways, roofs, platforms and all other areas that involve working at height. The regulations require all individuals to avoid working at height where possible, prevent falls where working at height is required and in the event of a fall taking place mitigate the consequences and control the distance of any fall. There is also a requirement to consider collective protection over personal protection ie the use of a handrail system over individual fall arrest systems. In short working at height must be properly planned organized and supervised by qualified personnel who are able to assess each situation and select the safest and most appropriate solution.
