Wear a Scar, Save a Life

This successful awareness campaign was based around the idea of early detection of melanoma being critically important. Another goal was also to raise funds to support people affected by melanoma through the sale of removable scar tattoos. The message on the box was: ‘Melanoma is a deadly skin cancer that can strike at any age. Wear a Scar, Save a Life got people talking in April 2011.


Call for Regulation of Sunbed Use

The Melanoma Foundation has joined with other key organisations in a call for the government to act to regulate the indoor tanning industry. The evidence about the dangers of sunbed use, especially by young people, has been amassing in recent years and can no longer be ignored. We call on the New Zealand government to follow the World Health Organization’s guidelines. Banning access to sunbeds for those under the age of 18.
