Looking for drama classes in Auckland? Howick Little Theatre's drama classes are structured to allow the individual student to learn and be challenged in a fun environment. It is not necessary for any of the participants to have existing drama experience – a strong desire to be there and a willingness to try new things is all that is required (though a sense of humour is a plus!). A range of theatrical devices, games, styles, exercises and devised provocations will be used. Focus will be given to character development and storytelling and students will learn much and grow in confidence. There will also be a strong emphasis on creating work. Students will be encouraged to free their imaginations and explore the notion of play as a creative tool while also learning to trust their abilities to communicate through physical expression.

Aidee Walker, originally from the Waikato, moved to Auckland to study acting at UNITEC. She then went on to teach drama with children aged 4-18 with "Kids 4 Drama", while working consistently in film, theatre and TV. Highlights including Alice in Closer at the Silo Theatre and Debbie in Thomas Sainsbury's ..And then you die, which she performed in NZ, the US and London. She is perhaps best known for her role of Draska from Outrageous Fortune. Aidee has just returned from a few years of studying, acting and travelling abroad with a career high of a one-woman show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2009. More recently she has begun to write and direct and will be directing her first short film, funded by the NZ Film Commission in early 2012.
