As a criminal defence lawyer, barrister and employment lawyer, I can help you deal with a wide range of legal problems.

I am able to help you with:

  • Trial counsel in criminal jury trials in the District or High Court.
  • Legal representation for Appeals against sentence in the Court of Appeal.
  • Bail applications, including e-bail and/or appeals against a refusal to grant bail.
  • Applications for discharge without conviction.
  • Sentencing hearings.
  • Traffic offences such as drink driving, dangerous or careless driving.
  • Limited licences or work licences.
  • Legal representative in employment disputes where you have a personal grievance such as unfair dismissal or constructive dismissal.

Criminal charges

If you’ve been charged with a criminal offence, I’ll present a professional defence in court on your behalf. As a criminal defence lawyer, I’ll ensure that your rights are protected and your interests looked after. If you deny the charges, we can force the Crown to prove their case beyond reasonable doubt. If you enter a guilty plea, we can present mitigating circumstances to reduce the sentence.

It doesn’t matter what the charge against you is. It can range from minor assault to one with the possibility of life imprisonment such as murder, manslaughter, rape or the import, manufacture or supply of class A drugs.

I have successfully defended clients on charges including assault, injuring with intent, kidnapping, aggravated robbery, theft, fraud, importing and supply of class A, B and C drugs and manufacturing methamphetamine.

I can also help you defend charges such as robbery, aggravated robbery, burglary, theft, fraud, kidnapping, sexual violation and unlawful sexual connection.

Depending on your circumstances, I can help you obtain a discharge without conviction or at least reduce the sentence. If there is the option to appeal to the High Court or Court of Appeal, I’ll help you through that process and lodge appeals on your behalf.

If things work out well for you, that’s great. But even if they don’t, I will make sure your interests are looked after.

Traffic offences

We’re not talking about some unpaid parking fines here. If you have been charged with driving under the influence, careless, reckless or dangerous driving, it could have serious consequences for you.

If you have an arguable defence, then I could help you secure an acquittal. On the other hand, if you do lose your licence, I can help you apply for a limited or day licence so you can continue to work.

Employment disputes

If you have a personal grievance, I’ll represent you. Whether we go for Mediation or proceed to the Employment tribunal, I will help you through the process.

I’ll do everything I can to obtain justice for you. We may even be able to get you reinstated or be awarded an amount in compensation.

Where I work

Most of my clients come from the greater Auckland area. I regularly represent clients in courts all over the region, including Auckland, Waitakere, North Shore, Manukau, and occasionally Papakura and Papatoetoe.

However, depending on the circumstances of your case, I may be willing to represent you no matter where you are in New Zealand.
