Consonic takes great pride in its proven track record on delivering sophisticated turnkey projects. Consonic regularly engineers complete processing cells for customers with fully networked and integrated processing machines. Our experienced team of engineers and technicians has successfully delivered complete factory floors from foundations to plastic processing machines, dehumidifiers/blenders/conveying systems, silos, Chillers and data acquisition software/hardware.
Many customers also utilise our experienced team of design and project engineers to complement an installation or the upgrade of an existing machine.
Service, Support & Training
Technical leadership requires a strong back-up in local service and support. Currently, Consonic employs 22 service technicians and trades people assigned to installing, maintaining, servicing or upgrading machines and robots. Consonic also provide contracts covering Total Preventative Maintenance and programs. We also offer formal training courses, process or skills audits and on-site programming services.
Examples of 'value-added' engineering services:
Injection moulding cells for manufacture of automotive facias (bumpers)- consisting of Engel 40000 kN dual platen moulding machines, integrated 6 axis robotic degating cells (with hot knife, drill and vacuum head function), integrated Johns 50T tool loading systems and 6 axis robotic parts unloaders. These bumper facia cells have been complemented with Branson ultrasonic welding cells containing Fanuc 6 axis robots.
Box packaging cells- supplied with Engel injection moulding machines, robotic take-out, grippers, bar coding function, carton conveying and loading stations.
Bulk Materials Handling
PVC batching plants- design, installation and commissioning of material storage / conveying and batching plants. Such systems incorporate the best in Waeschle rotary valves, multi-way divertors, fluidizing cones, loading vessels and control systems with locally designed and manufactured silos, transfer vessels and mezzanine platforms.
Plastic pellet storage and transfer for plastic processors- we have installed hundreds of systems across Australia and New Zealand, incorporating every feature from large custom designed silos, automatic rotary couplers, volumetric and gravimetric dosing/blending systems, quality dehumidifying systems for the complete range of standard and hydroscopic materials, inline regrind systems, distributed I/O control systems (single wire), etc.
Special purpose Matiss cutting machines- designed and commissioned to cut frozen cheese cakes into wedges at a rate of 22 units per minute.
K-tron gravimentric feeders- supplied to dose a recipe in a confectionery line.
K-tron weigh batch units- supplied, installed and commissioned to accurately feed freeze-dried coffee granules, or dose recipes for confectionary, breakfast cereals and pet foods.
K-tron electro-static systems- supplied, installed and commissioned for flavouring of corn chips and other snack foods.
Sterilizer refurbishments and upgrades- supply of all new electrics plus PLC control, new Burrket valves and pipe work, plus a new inbuilt boiler. Touch screen controls configured to the customer's requirements, and a printer added. This investment was just a fraction of the cost of a new sterilizer. Other sterilizers have been independently validated by Consonic and adjusted in 'real time', using the accuracy of interfaced microchip probes.
Indexing tunnel washer/disinfector- most recently, we have completely re-engineered an old Belimed system so that it is now fully automated and operates at maximum efficiency. New Allen Bradley PLC, with programming by Consonic; animated touch screen control with full diagnostic screens; fully modified wash system for maximum efficiency; automatic trolley detection and docking engagement; automatic removal of instrument carrier from trolley, indexing through all wash cycles and exit; detection and automatic loading of exiting carrier onto trolley; fully automated 2 carrier return system, with automatic door to maintain seal between clean and dirty work areas.
Ultrasonic cleaning systems with automated instrument basket lifting system- retrofit of non-Consonic ultrasonic cleaning systems with PLC controlled servo driven lifters, with auto/manual options, dual palm button cycle start, and integrated acoustic lid.
