What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a natural and holistic form of health care that focuses on correcting the cause of physical problems, rather than just treating the symptoms. Chiropractic is based on a simple but powerful premise. With a normally functioning spine and healthy nerve system, your body is better able to heal itself.

How does chiropractic work?

Chiropractic works by restoring your body's innate (in-born) ability to be healthy. When under the proper control of your nervous system, all the cells, tissues, and organs of your body are designed to resist disease and ill health. The chiropractic approach to better health is to locate and remove interferences to your nervous system caused by vertebral subluxations (spinal misalignment).

What’s the big deal about vertebral subluxations?

The impact vertebral subluxations have on our health cause much more damage than symptoms of back and neck pain. They interfere with the ability of the body to function in many ways, sometimes manifesting as disease. Because nerve interference can be present without any obvious signs or symptoms it can be virtually impossible for someone to know that their health is being compromised. This is why it is so important to have regular chiropractic check ups.

What is a chiropractic adjustment?

An adjustment is a gentle and specific action made by a chiropractor to apply a carefully controlled and directed pressure, to remove vertebral subluxations and restore nerve function.
