By: Bayleys North Shore  05-Apr-2012

A record-breaking net figure of $140,000 was raised at the recent annual Bayleys North Shore Vintners’ Brunch with 450 people digging deep in support of North Shore Hospice.

Bayleys North Shore has been the principal sponsor of this event for five years and each year, the amount raised continues to amaze everyone. Such is the popularity of the event that it sells out within days of ticket sales opening with most attendees regulars at the annual brunch.

Held at Sky City, the guests were treated to an outstanding array of culinary delights from 12 esteemed restaurants and wineries competing in a food and wine matching competition.

In addition, 53 silent auctions and 17 live auctions were co-ordinated by Bayleys North Shore with enthusiastic bidding on all the items. Blair Cashmore was the Bayleys auctioneer on the day, and singer Tina Cross entertained the crowd in her inimitable polished style.

And, the winning food and wine combination? A white chocolate and roasted nut baklava with tastes of pineapple from Cibo Parnell paired with Pernod Ricard Cottage Block Cut Cane Pinot Gris 2008.
