Aluminium City’s awning windows are versatile, strong and ideal for New Zealand’s changeable weather. Our awning windows open from the bottom enabling the window to be left open while still providing protection from the weather.
Casement windows are a stylish option suitable for a wide range of designs from traditional to contemporary. Our casement windows are side opening and can catch the breeze directing it inwards. This feature provides good ventilation with the added benefit of 22mm of weather cover. Sliding and Stacking Doors and Windows
Sliding doors are a versatile and practical door type for access to deck and patio areas. These doors allow for opening without the danger of slamming shut in windy conditions.
Multi Sliding Doors are the perfect wide opening sliding door solution. They open to two-thirds of their width and are available in three panel or six panel configurations.
Horizontal Sliding Windows are often used between kitchens and outside entertainment areas. Options include windows with a single sliding panel or two sliding panels meeting in the middle. A heavy duty Slidemaster version is available for demanding environments, and there is also the double slider where two panels slide past each other for greater flexibility. A double track option allows a timber shutter outside a glass panel for privacy and sunscreen purposes. Double Hung Windows/ Vertical Sliding Windows
The Aluminium City double hung window has two surrounding frame options – one with a scrolled Edwardian appearance and the other with a clean, flat face for a more contemporary look. The Project Aluminium double hung allows easy cleaning of the window exterior. The two independently moving sashes can be pivoted inwards to allow cleaning from the inside.
Where maximum energy efficiency is required double glazing is the preferred option to reduce heat loss. A standard 4/12/4 double glazed unit will reduce heat loss by more than half when compared with a single pane of glass. Double glazing using ‘Low-E’ glass will further reduce heat loss by as much as two thirds compared with a single pane. Double glazing combined with reflective or tinted glass is also worth considering in order to reduce the likelihood of condensation forming on overhead glass. Laminate glass and double glazing are also able to cut down on sound penetration from outside sources. Hinged Doors
Aluminium City hinged doors have clean cut, square-edge stiles and wide top and bottom rails for a strong visual effect. The rails can be further widened for a more traditional deep-rail appearance. Aluminium City hinged doors can be used as back doors or for general utility purposes. They can include sidelights, overlights, and adjacent windows. Open-in or open-out options are available. Hidden compression blocks at the corners keep joints tight and ensure panel rigidity. French Doors
Our French doors have been designed to reflect genuine French door design. They are an ideal solution where wide access to decks or grounds is needed. Where partial ventilation is required windows can be included in sidelights, overlight and as adjacent windows. Entry Doors
Aluminium City offers an attractive range of residential entry door options. Two elegant, aluminium clad entrance doors are available – the Classic Collection and the Axis Series. Classic doors feature glazed or solid panels bordered by mouldings, while the Axis range follows a tongue-and-groove format with vertically arrayed sections for a truly contemporary look. The layering of lines in Axis doors imparts a clean aesthetic, and the patented, two-part construction offers a unique opportunity - a door with a colour to match the interior scheme and a different finish for the outside. A range of hardwearing, wood grain films can also be applied. Timber entry doors can also be included in our frames. Axis Entry Doors
Axis doors are clad in aluminium and have a ‘tongue and groove’ appearance. Their attractive layering of lines impart a clean aesthetic, and the patented, two-part construction offers a unique opportunity - a door with a colour to match the interior scheme and a different finish for the outside. A range of hard wearing, wood grain, powder coat, or anodised finishes are also available. Because they’re made from aluminium, Axis Series doors are a low maintenance option. They don’t warp, shrink or swell, especially when exposed to wet weather. And their solid, foam-filled construction gives them high strength and jemmy resistance. Classic Entry Doors
The Classic range of aluminium-clad entrance doors feature glazed and solid panels bordered by mouldings. Classic doors are very stable and avoid the downside of timber doors, with no swelling and shrinking when exposed to damp weather. They can be built with a sidelight that also opens to create a French door effect. Classic doors have a polystyrene core and glazed panels with beads that cannot be removed from the outside. A range of lever locks are available in powder coat or gold finish including the, contemporary-styled Miro handle, the popular Verona handle and the Italian Pasotti handle. Bifold Doors and Windows
Bi-folding doors open up the full potential of outside living by stacking out of the way to one or both sides. Aluminium City bi-folds follow the same striking design as the hinged and French doors to ensure a coordinated look. The bi-fold set can include a free-swinging hinged door for easy access without opening up the bi-folds. A hold-back device can be attached to the free swinging panel to conveniently fix it back to the next bi-fold panel. The suggested maximum size per door is 2200mm high by 900mm wide, though bigger doors may be possible in lower wind zones.
