Heritage Afternoon Teas a Hit !
Braemar on Parliament Street
Bed and Breakfast, Afternoon Tea, Bedandbreakfast
Over the past five years during the Auckland Heritage Festival each Sep/Oct we have held our "Heritage Afternoon Tea and Tour of a Victorian Townhouse" and they have proven hugely popular. They have even been featured on TV1 news.
Because of this popularity we have decided to accept bookings outside of the Festival, so now you can ring and book a special afternoon tea for you and your friends. We take bookings for Saturday afternoon tea, 3:00 to 4:30pm , and our afternoon tea fare is made in our own kitchen from the recipes in the iconic Edmonds Cookery Book. We serve Dilmah Afternoon Tea in fine bone china teacups and typically the goodies are a selection such as brandy balls, apricot balls, afghans, shortbread, maybe a fruit loaf or muffins and fine cucumber sandwiches. You can state your preference when you book.
We charge NZ$30 per head for the afternooon tea and tour of the house. The tea is served when you are comfortably seated in our front parlour, and after sampling the goodies you are taken on a tour of the house. You get to see the inner workings of our BB and see for yourself the results of many years of renovation and restoration of this Heritage listed home.We tell you about the history of this area, Official Bay, and Braemar our house ( once part of the Courtville Apartments complex) and about our renovations. After the tour and talk you can sample more tea and yummy food, then sign our visitor's book before leaving us.
