General Photography | Andy Brown Photography ~ Christchurch, New Zealand

Yesterday a very cool gig happened here in Christchurch — the Light Up Charity Gig. All the bands, organisers, and sponsors (including Enquire Design) collaborated together and dedicated valuable time and effort for this show to go ahead, with all proceeds going toward the Salvation Army, The Dux, and Al’s Bar. Hopefully an injection like this will see more live bands playing around what has been a quiet scene lately.

Below are some photos I got from the show for the sets of Loaded Victim, Kaizen Mofos, Merchants of Flow, Mynor Star, Suede Arcade, and None Left Standing. Sorry if you fell outside of this time slot, I missed you. If you’re a band wanting to use these photos, go ahead and grab em’, please just leave the watermark/logo in the corner.

Jordan Kidd, one of our local ripping skaters recently joined the Backflips Clothing team, and in turn needed some fresh shots. We loaded up the car and headed out to Oxford skatepark for the afternoon last weekend, here’s a few of my favs from the shoot.

A couple of weeks ago Christchurch had the pleasure of Auckland’s melodic punk act Kitsch return for a long awaited South Island tour. The Christchurch crowd was on form as usual, though since I’ve been hibernating from the local punk scene, the moshpit. So I’ve finally got my computer back up and running, meaning I have heaps of work to catch up on.

Traveling is one of the coolest parts of being a photographer, even though it was only a couple of hours down the road, it was still a nice little mission to Timaru for the 2011 Backflips Movember Skate Jam. Skaters from Dunedin, Wanaka, Christchurch, Temuka — all around the South Island gathered at the Timaru Skatepark for their share in a huge prize pool.
