So I’ve finally got my computer back up and running, meaning I have heaps of work to catch up on. A couple of weeks ago Christchurch had the pleasure of Auckland’s (or should I say Taranaki’s) melodic punk act Kitsch return for a long awaited South Island tour. I’ve been a fan of these guys for many years now, and seeing our local band None Left Standing get the tour support was the icing on top. Kitsch have just released a new e.p. “Destroy The Lines”, and their new songs held up well live, if not even better than the recording in my opinion. Credit to them because that doesn’t happen often.

The Christchurch crowd was on form as usual, though since I’ve been hibernating from the local punk scene, the moshpit …

Jordan Kidd, one of our local ripping skaters recently joined the Backflips Clothing team, and in turn needed some fresh shots. We loaded up the car and headed out to Oxford skatepark for the afternoon last weekend, here’s a few of my favs from the shoot.

Traveling is one of the coolest parts of being a photographer, even though it was only a couple of hours down the road, it was still a nice little mission to Timaru for the 2011 Backflips Movember Skate Jam. Skaters from Dunedin, Wanaka, Christchurch, Temuka — all around the South Island gathered at the Timaru Skatepark for their share in a huge prize pool.

All the bands, organisers, and sponsors (including Enquire Design) collaborated together and dedicated valuable time and effort for this show to go ahead, with all proceeds going toward the Salvation Army, The Dux, and Al’s Bar. Yesterday a very cool gig happened here in Christchurch — the Light Up Charity Gig.
