Dwight Shepherd – Director
Chef, businessman, catering mogul, family man, builder, just to name a few. 16 years ago, Dwight decided to achieve his chefs qualification and involve himself in the Northland hospitality industry. He did his time working in some of Whangarei’s leading restaurants, but it didn’t take long for him to realise his own potential. 6 years later he established his own business and worked hard to earn himself an admirable reputation in the local catering industry. The rest they say is history.
Talk to him about business and you’ll be informed beyond belief. Engage him in casual conversation, then make sure you’ve got time on your hands, and a sense of humour!
Richard Taylor – Director
In a nutshell, Richard arrived on NZ shores in 2001 from the UK. He has British, Canadian & Kiwi citizenship, but has made NZ his forever home. His entry into the restaurant industry began at the age of 13 whilst still at school. He worked part-time in a local restaurant as a dishy. A humble, but important beginning to his career in cooking which has seen him working in kitchens from the Lakes District in England to the Antipodes. Ask him his favourite place to work and he’ll probably say a quaint little vegetarian restaurant in a countryside village in England, or the Whitsunday Islands in Australia. His travel experiences and passion for people and places, adds flavour (excuse the pun!) to what he and Dwight are trying to achieve with Absolute Caterers Ltd.
