The Original Bread Company

The Original Bread Company was founded in 1992 after David Carrodus returned from overseas, initially as a catering company, focused on cocktail parties and weddings. David is a qualified chef with qualifications under the the London and City Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 taking these to work in London and Australia.

David has been involved in catering to the likes of Lady Diana, Prince Charles, John Cleese and U2 and been involved in numerous catering competitions over the years, with the highlight being the captaining of a team winning over their Australian counterparts in Melbourne.

The Original Bread Company today offers a vast and exciting array of quality artisian breads, filled items, pastries, slices, gateaux, muffins and savoury goods, supplying to the hospitality industry.

The Original Bread Company has three of its own cafés also offering a range of unique and tempting products complete with espresso coffees. Our sites can be found on our website home page under FIND A CAFÉ

All these products can now offered to you by means of our new home delivery service. We believe this to be unique to Christchurch and my team and I are very excited to be in a position now to offer this service to you, be it a cake for a dinner party to a large corporate banquet!
