Over the years The Bean has built up a staunch following from all walks of life. 8:00am at the Café sees a bleary eyed line-up of coffee connoisseurs from thespians to corporate heavy weights. Universes are created and destroyed at The Bean, and all the world's problems are solved over a cup or two. It is a hub of social networks; the Whakatane glitterati are attracted like flies to a web.

The Bean is also one of the many small independent coffee roasters in New Zealand. All our coffee is roasted and blended by our baristas Pat, from the best varietals available, so you know it's good.
